President’s Message:

The General Membership Assembly meeting of PNA-NY was held on October 14, 2011 at the Rose Room in Bellevue Hospital Center on First Avenue and 27th Street.  Only registered members are invited to attend as the meeting discussion included the chapter activities as reported by the different committees, by-laws ratification, and issues affecting the membership.  For many first timers, the meeting was presented with an agenda that was approved by all members who were present and the rules of the meeting were presented by Vernie Bacolot, President-elect. 

Over the years, PNA-NY has tremendously grown to enhance and promote the Filipino nursing profession.   Our chapter is a constituent of the PNAA and member of NCEMNA and is a non-profit organization.  PNA-NY chapter has been in existence since 1929 and has produced many outstanding Filipino nurse leaders and this is one association that I encourage you to network because we are surrounded by well-recognized nurse leaders.

In the current administration, you will learn of the chapter activities and achievements by reading the content of the newsletters under my Presidential reports.  I am proud to share the best we do as a chapter.  We are all volunteers and we do not have an office which we meet officially.  Like you and I, we all have our regular job and after our regular job is the PNA-NY.  So I am calling on each and every one of you, as a member, you have a voice.  Be an active participant; contribute your knowledge and expertise.  Become a committee member.  Be there for PNA-NY.

I would like to thank every member who came at this meeting.  Your participation was a true sentiment of your commitment and volunteerism. You were all truly engaged!
The chapter by-laws has been ratified and congratulations to all your comments and votes.
