Nursing in Brooklyn, New York, conducted a study
to investigate acculturation and job satisfaction
among Filipino Registered Nurses present during
the Philippine Nurses Association of America Eastern

in September, 2006. This research study was part
of his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree requirement

showed that the Filipino nurses surveyed had a
moderate level of job satisfaction and an acculturation
level that leaned toward the American culture
rather than the Filipino culture. He also found
that age, length of residency in the United States,
and acculturation significantly predicted job
satisfaction among the nurses surveyed.
