Trial Date for Sentosa Nurses Set

PNA-NY, Inc Together with NAFCON Supports Sentosa 27

Oct. 29, 2007 - The Honorable Robert Doyle presided today's hearing of the Sensosa Case at the ARTHUR M. CROMARTY COURT COMPLEX (Supreme Court, County Court, Juror Information & Law Library) 210 Center Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901.

Two dates were set: December 17, 2007 and January 28, 2008. The first date, Dec. 17, will be a hearing process whereby the judge will inquire the nurses' decision to hire one one counsel. The nurses already executed their respective affidavits to that effect, but the Assistant District Attorney wanted to hear the nurses state their decision in open court.The second date of January 28, 2008, the actual trial date was cancelled and will be rescheduled tentatively on March 2008. After these announcements, supporters of Sentosa 27 gathered outside the courtyard. Representatives from various organizations - NAFCON, NYSNA, PNAA/PNA-NY, Inc., were all unanimous in encouraging these brave nurses to stay strong and united in fighting for justice.

It was heartwarming to listen to testimonies from fellow co-workers of the Sentosa Nurses. They were described as caring, hardworking individuals who can be trusted if anyone becomes a patient in the emergency room. Another testimony came from a family of one of the patients that Sentosa nurses took care of.
