MISSION STATEMENT

The Philippine Nurses Association of New York, Inc. will strive to promote the highest standards of professional nursing practice while advocating for the socio-cultural and economic advancement of Filipino American nurses in the State of New York.

PNA-NY, Inc is committed to uphold the image and foster the welfare of Filipino Nurses as a professional group.

OBJECTIVES
Offer education sessions designed to assist members identify and fulfill career goals, professional responsibilities and cultural adjustments.

Engage in an open exchange of information to address issues relevant to nursing practice, education and research

Uphold the rights and prerogatives of Filipino nurses practicing in New York and the United States, within the framework of existing laws and organizational standards.

Lobby legislation that would improve and enhance the welfare of its constituents

Maintain active connections with other professional and community organizations

Support professional and community activities congruent with the objectives of the association

REPRESENTATION
You become a constituent of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA). PNAA is a member of the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Association (NCEMNA).

Along with over 10,000 Filipino-American nurses in the United States, you have a voice in various professional organizations, government agencies, community groups and other coalitions.

AWARDS/NOMINATION/SCHOLARSHIP
Be recognized for your contribution. Awards for clinical, education, leadership, community, and research are given to deserving members. Serve and represent PNA-NY as an elected officer or board member. Qualify for scholarship offered by PNAA Foundation or avail of the Mentor/Mentee opportunity offered by NCEMNA.

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
PNA-NY is an approved provider of continuing education by the New York State Council on Continuing Education (Accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation). Receive discounts on educational offerings and attend free evening programs with CEU. Receive discounts on educational offering and events:

    Members of PNA-NY and PNAA are alumni of various schools and colleges of nursing in the Philippines and in the United States.

    Be a subject matter expert and volunteer for the balik-turo project or publish an article for the official newsletter.

    Joining provides you with opportunities to connect with experts in your own specialty  as well as professionals across other disciplines, at the local, state, national up to international levels.
